Masala Tea

Tea is an emotional attachment for many – a reminder of many things and memories or just a simple routine that is a must-have! What amazes us most about it is the kind of following in varying forms that it has and people are just hooked to have it their way! Today we present how we like to have our masala tea, the Break&Binge way!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup full cream milk
  • 2 tsp tea leaves
  • 4-5 mint leaves
  • 4-5 tulsi leaves
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 small cube of jaggery
  • ¼ tsp dry ginger powder
  • 3-4 cardamom
  • 2-3 black pepper corns
  • 3-4 cloves

Procedure:

  1. In a pan, boil the water and add tea leaves, mint leaves and tulsi leaves
  2. When water comes to a boil, simmer the gas and add ginger, ginger powder, sugar and jaggery
  3. While the water is boiling at simmer, crush cardamom, black pepper corns and cloves using pestle and mortar. Add it to the boiling water
  4. Once the water comes to a boil, add milk
  5. Boil the tea and as soon as it comes to a boil, boil the tea on simmer for 5-7 minutes or until the desired colour is obtained
  6. Turn off the gas and cover the pan with lid for 2-3 minutes. Serve hot
