For the lovers of Asian-chinese food, the bok choy and broccoli stir fry is a clear winner! Made with garlic and in oyster sauce, it is one of the quickest and yummy stir fry to have with a bowl of jasmine rice. Bok choy is a type of Chinese cabbage which has its crunch near the stalk and has leaves at the top. This is one of our go to recipes in the Asian-chinese food!
Ingredients:
- 10-12 bok choy, cut from stalk
- 10-12 broccoli florets
- 3 cloves of minced garlic
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- 2-2.5 tbsp vegetarian oyster sauce
- 1.5 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp roasted sesame
- Black pepper to taste
- Salt to taste (will mostly be not needed)
Procedure:
- Boil salted water and add bok choy in it. Cook for 40 sec (leave the crunch intact) and then drain. Rinse through cold water, drain and then keep it ready
- Do the same for brocooli and let it cook for a minute in the salted water
- In a pan, put oil and when it is hot, add garlic. Cook until it is golden brown
- Add the sauce (oyster sauce+soy sauce) and cook for 2 min. Add bok choy and broccoli & mix well. Turn off the flame after 30 sec
- Sprinkle black pepper as per taste and roasted sesame on top
- Serve hot with a bowl of rice
Note: make sure that bok choy is not overly boiled, it is important to have the crunch in it
